OPEN HOUSE AND AWARD night

may  19, 2009
CANCELED DUE TO MINIMAL RESPONSE

One of the things I looked forward to in our early days of homeschooling was the end of the year Open House. Sharing our homeschool experience with friends, family and other TEACH members allowed me to encourage and to be encouraged at the same time! Whether a display is big or small doesn’t matter. The joy is in the sharing (not the comparing!).
Here is what to do:

1.)    Be thankful for this past year of homeschooling. Whether it was big or bust, submit it all unto the Lord’s care and be wiling to share.

2.)    Look around your homeschool for things to bring.  A poem, a picture, a report, a rock, an a+, or a list of things you studied and did this year. Make sure each student contributes.  If you still feel you don’t have much, get out the camera and take a picture of your home (school) and family (student body).  Get the pictures developed, put them in a frame and bring that!

3.)    Contact ? to tell her you’re coming and give her an idea of how little or how much you may bring.

4.)    Don’t change your mind.  Come early enough to Open House that you’ll have time to set-up and still make it to the sanctuary for the Awards Ceremony.

5.)    Let your kids know how pleased you are with their efforts by sharing them with others!

Each family is asked to bring two dozen cookies for a time of fellowship after the Awards ceremony.

Friendly Reminder:  Please plan now on attending this exciting night!  If any member of your family participated in this year’s TEACH events – for example:  Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, Junior Envirothon, Speech Event, Math Bash, Presidential Physical Fitness, etc. certificates or ribbons will be given to the participants.  Don’t miss out!
